Coffee is native to East Africa’s Uganda. In the 1800s, before coffee was known as a beverage, Ugandans would chew sundried coffee beans for caffeine stimulation. Ugandan Coffee is extraordinarily tasty with hints of nuts, chocolate and a host of other natural flavors that will entertain the most discriminating palette. Both coffee lovers and Ugandan coffee farmers have strongly encouraged Kawa Java to import Ugandan Arabica and Robusta berries.
Annette Nanziri is the founder of Kawa Java LLC, dedicated to bringing the finest organic and sustainable Ugandan coffee to North America. A graduate of Marquette University and Argosy University, Annette's passion for coffee began on her family’s farm in Uganda, where she learned to cultivate coffee. This hands-on experience inspired her to import high-quality coffee to the U.S. In 2007-2008, Annette became deeply involved in Uganda’s coffee farming process, working with local farmers and the Uganda Coffee Development Authority to ensure premium quality.
She regularly travels to Uganda, handpicking Arabica and Robusta beans that meet her exacting standards. Annette is committed to fair trade and empowering Ugandan farmers through direct relationships. By improving their economic conditions and offering sustainable products, she continues to bring the rich flavors of Uganda to North American coffee lovers, supporting local communities and maintaining high-quality standards.
